what is new student convocation?
  • New Student Convocation is an campus tradition dedicated to welcoming new students (first-year and transfer students) to Niner Nation.
  • During the event, you will learn about Charlotte’s traditions, mission and values that drive Niner Pride and define our campus community.
  • You will hear from Chancellor Sharon L. Gaber, our faculty keynote speaker, a 49er Alum and other University leadership.
  • After Convocation, we encourage you to stick around and explore the Student Organization Showcase and RecFest. Visit goldrush.charlotte.edu for more event details!
where can i pick up my t-shirt?
  • T-shirt pick-up will take place 1 – 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20 in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center Food Court.
  • If you miss the event, you can pick-up your t-shirt at the following events and/or locations during the first week of classes:
    • Aug. 21, 7:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. / University Center for Academic Excellence, Colvard North 2200
    • Aug. 23, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. / Plaza Party (Rain Location: SAC Food Court)
    • Aug. 24, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. / Tips, Tricks & T-Shirts, Belk Plaza (Rain Location: Colvard)
