All faculty and first-year course instructors are encouraged to participate in New Student Convocation to positively impact the success of our new undergraduate students.

RSVP

Event time

  • New Student Convocation will take place on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023 beginning at 2 p.m.
  • Faculty and first-year course instructors are encouraged to arrive by 1:30 p.m. to prepare for the faculty processional.

Check-in

  • Faculty will line up in the Northwest corner of the Halton Arena location in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center (SAC). You may enter the building through any entrance. Student volunteers will direct you to the faculty line-up area.

Procession

  • All faculty and first-year course instructors will process into the ceremony approximately 5 minutes prior to the start of the event.
  • Faculty are encouraged to wear regalia.

Regalia

  • Faculty members and first-year course instructors may request regalia for New Student Convocation.
  • If you need to request regalia, please contact Adrienne Davis at Adrienne.Davis@charlotte.edu.

Disability Access Accommodation Requests

  • Faculty members with disabilities who need accommodations to participate in the Day of Convocation should contact Katie Montie, ADA Project Coordinator, in the Office of Disability Services at KatieMontie@charlotte.edu or 704-687-0043.
  • Early requests are encouraged; two weeks will generally allow us time to provide seamless access.

Parking

  • All faculty must utilize a valid UNC Charlotte parking permit or park in visitor parking and pay the normal hourly rate.
